Despite the waters off this small sand and pebble beach being sheltered and the currents not strong, swimming it is not the most popular activity and there are no lifeguards.

The beach is not large and can become quite busy especially in the holiday season with the ferry and boats coming and going.

This area of the Helford estuary is better known for other watersport activities such as sailing, kayaking and fishing and a place where small motor boats can be hired to explore the many coves and creeks.
