The South West Coast Path runs along the north side of the Helford Estuary from Rosemullion Head at the mouth to Helford Passage. It then crosses the river and is picked up again at Helford on the southern shore.

The South West Coast Path then runs east, back towards the open sea, to Dennis Head and on around Gillan Creek.

The passenger ferry over the Helford River operates in the summer only.

You can also walk along the quiet road west out of Helford Passage to explore The Bar, an expanse of sand and shingle exposed at low water.
