Gyllyngvase is a sandy and very popular swimming beach for both visitors and the residents of Falmouth and so fishing opportunities are limited.

Early in the morning, when the beach is quieter, can produce bass on lures and sandeel baits. During the day it can be worth trying the rocky outcrops exposed on eilther side of the beach at low tide for bass and small wrasse and pollock.

Mackerel can sometimes come within casting range, particularly during calm conditions in the evening.
