This is one of north Cornwall’s most popular beaches for both families and watersport enthusiasts. Three miles of golden sands extend from Chapel Rock in the south to Penhale Sands in the north. The beach faces westwards into the Atlantic providing excellent surfing and body-boarding conditions. There is also a sea water pool by Chapel Rock. RNLI lifeguards are present in season and their safety advice should be followed at all times as currents can be deceptively strong. Nearby facilities include a bar and restaurant on the beach.
Lifeguards: May to September, 10am to 6pm.
Dogs: to be kept on leads between 10am and 5pm during July and August on the busiest parts of the beach.
