The Helford is one of the most picturesque estuaries in Cornwall. This is the best known beach, located on the north side of the estuary where the ferry crosses the river. Set in wonderful surroundings, it is well used as a launching place for tenders and small sailing boats. The South West Coast Path provides wonderful walks both eastwards towards the mouth and westwards up the estuary towards Gweek. In the sub tropical climate the world renowned gardens of Glendurgan and Trebah have flourished nearby. The car park is located off the steep approach road and a series of steps lead down to the Ferryboat Inn and the beach.
