A small cove with a tiny beach at low water, it is under 4 miles from Land’s End. The South West Coast Path goes through the hamlet of Porthgwarra with splendid views of the dramatic coastline and its rounded rock outcrops. The bird-watching at Gwennap Head is superb, especially for seabirds as they pass offshore. The heather moorland and scrub to the west form a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and the nearby Far Valley is the most south-westerly in the British Isles.
Lifeguards: none.
