This beach almost disappears at high water but it is in a spectacular setting sitting on the edge of Falmouth harbour with fine views across the water to the town and dockyard. It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the eastern end of the beach is within the Lower Fal and Helford Intertidal SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest).
